[PM] Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Fresh Pie From the Sky

Huang Xue smiled at Luo Ke. “It’s okay, you do not have to hold back. As long as it’s something you need, just tell me and I will present it to you as reward for your help. I won’t be stingy either.”

“This…I…I am fine. There is no need, since I have also taken some things from Yang Chen’s cosmic bag already so…” Luo Ke took a step back and explained.

Under normal circumstances, if it were someone else who said the same things Huang Xue did, Luo Ke would not hesitate to accept. It’s free, so why not?

But the person before him was just too weird. He did not trust Huang Xue. Especially now knowing that Yang Chen had fallen to this person’s plot…

Huang Xue frowned as he insisted: “No, no, that’s what you gain personally. It was not from me, so how could I cheat you like this? Since you won’t say what you want, then let me see…”

Huang Xue abruptly extended his hand and placed it on Luo Ke’s forehead. He then used his divine sense as he swiped it over Luo Ke’s body, examining his internal meridians, veins, and dantian.

Surprised, Luo Ke immediately jolted backward, his eyes filled with vigilance. He had felt a faint tremble throughout his body when Huang Xue touched his forehead.

Huang Xue could only dryly give a cough as he thought to himself:

“This boy only has a Level 1 Vein…that’s no good. Only his the energy accumulated in his dantian sea could somewhat be considered decent. And all of his thirty meridians are opened, so that’s also acceptable. Since strength is everything here, having him increase his ability would be the best thing right now.”

Usually, if one wanted to be a cultivator, they would begin training at the age of eight. Some may be even earlier, especially for those super clans. That is to ensure that their younger generation are able to outperform those of similar ages.

And typically, the children would have all thirty meridians unblocked to ensure ease of absorbing the Qi around them and directing it within their body. Even some fortunate commoners would often have access to getting their children’s meridians unblocked so that they too, would have the opportunity to embark on a brighter future.

After all, being a cultivator did have certain fame and influence in some parts of the continent. The strong was, inevitably, always admired wherever they go.

Huang Xue then reached in his blue cosmic ring and pulled out six brown papered manuals. Without hesitation, he stuffed it towards Luo Ke’s chest.

“Take these copied manuals; they’re all useful martial arts skills. I am sure they’ll be useful to you. Each of them is comparable to….the Upper Heaven-grade rank! So be sure to guard them carefully. Without my permission, you should never divulge these arts to anyone else!”

Huang Xue continued on the nonchalantly explain:

“With the [Dragon Soul Derivative], it would help train your soul and divine sense. The [Nine Planet Palm] is for attack, [True Buddha Skin] shall be for defense, and [Spatial Deposition] will be instantaneous bodily movement. [Grand Taiji Fist Arts] and [Emperor Roar] are also for attack, but they’re more profound in content. Each of these skills can still prove to be useful even after one steps into the Heavenly Wang realm!”

Moreover, the six skills were also at the top within their levels. If fully mastered, their power could be comparable to that of a quasi-King grade ranked skill!

To others, giving away such quality arts may seem rash or even irrational, but to Huang Xue, he thought it was only natural. If you want to improve someone’s strength quickly, why would you not provide them with the best treatments?

He had heard of experts acting mysterious and imparting their disciples only a few truly “strong” arts in hopes that they can “slowly” improve.

In Huang Xue’s opinions, he thought it was a load of donkey dung.

The reality is that truly high ranked skills are simply too precious. It was not worth to invest it to a youth who may or may not survive to maturation. But that was not the case for Huang Xue.

He had utter confidence that Luo Ke would survive until the day the latter’s power ripened. No, he had to believe that Luo Ke would reach the peak. That was what was written in the stars based on the Star Decree Stone’s predictions. At least, until the youth’s powers matured.

Otherwise, chaos was bound to ensue.

If it wasn’t that one required a Profound He-level cultivation to learn those King-grade arts and above, Huang Xue would not have hesitated to give even more powerful skills to Luo Ke.

Only after reaching Tian realm, would one’s Dao begin to bud, and after that one would continue to immerse themselves in different laws and develop their Dao nature.

“….”

Luo Ke stared down at the six manuals in his hands as his mind sped up at the speed of light. He was trying to comprehend exactly how the hell six Heaven-grade skills, rumored to be almost non-existent in the Long Dynasty, have appeared in the palm of his hands. These luxurious items have appeared on someone at once, and subsequently been given to himself.

He had a strong heart and a stable mind – that is what Luo Ke had thought of himself. But even then, this kind of development was simply too fast and out of the ordinary for him to keep calm.

Without waiting for Luo Ke to regain his poor soul, Huang Xue reached into his blue cosmic ring again. After searching and organizing the items he needed, Huang Xue proceeded to pull out two silver-colored cosmic bags.

(Reminder: Cosmic Bags: Brown=1 cubic meters of space, silver=10 cubic meters, blue=50 cubic meters, cyan=100 cubic meters, and gold=300 cubic meters)

“Right, take these with you as well. I simply do not feel that those skill manuals are enough as rewards. Inside the first silver cosmic bag, there’s ten thousand bottles of “Qilin Blood Pill”, ten pills in each bottle, and a manual of [Void Vein]. If consume two pills every time you practice [Void Vein], you’ll be able slowly to transform your Level 1 Vein into higher stages. In the other cosmic bag, I have placed ten million Qi stones for your use.” Huang Xue calmly recited as he placed the bags on top of the stacks of manual in Luo Ke’s hands.

When Huang Xue left the Upper Regions, he had taken mainly pills, manuals, and Qi stones. These were all prepared for his Destined Ones; especially the plethora of top martial manuals. They were there to safeguard against all sorts of odd or common body constitutions and cultivation level, so that in the case his Destined Ones had unique conditions, he would still be able to help them.

Luo Ke dumbly stared at the mountain of wealth that reeked of both holy opportunities and hellish dangers. His hands slightly trembled. In fact, the dangers seemed to outstrip the opportunities, is what Luo Ke vaguely came to feel.

Although Luo Ke did not have knowledge on some of the items mentioned, he did comprehend that they were wondrous items.

“Godd*mn, a single Yang Chen is worth this much?! This is…this is…” Looking at the items before him, Luo Ke did not know whether to laugh or cry.

But he now knew one thing: the person, who was standing before him while smiling as one’s grandpa would to his grandsons, was incredibly wealthy – and even more so frightening. Just the number of Qi stones alone was on par with the Long Dynasty itself, much less the legendary Heaven-grade skills that was said only to be in possession of the Long Dynasty. And even they, only had a single of such skill – and it was merely an incomplete copy at that!

Although Luo Ke received several high grade skills, it did not mean he became invincible immediately. It would still take quite some time to actually comprehend the higher leveled skills, as well as intensive practices to gain mastery over these newfound abilities. At best, it only meant that as Luo Ke grew stronger, his pathway upwards had been somewhat paved out much clearer than other cultivators.

It would still depend on himself whether he would truly become powerful, even with these skills, in the future.

Moreover, at this point, Luo Ke was absolutely certain this Huang Xue wasn’t merely the Shen clan’s third young master. The Shen Clan could never produce such wealth and items at a whim.

Was this an imposter? Who…is this Huang Xue really?

As Luo Ke tried to wrap his head around this turn of event, he suddenly thought of something as he weakly asked, suppressing his other thoughts:

“Uh..you…you said that this so-called [Vein of Gods] can cultivate my Level 1 vein? What do you mean by that?”

Huang Xue continued to smile as he patiently explained. With the level of cultivators at Long Dynasty, it was no wonder that Luo Ke would not know about the Vein levels.

“In the martial arts world, one’s Veins are ranked from Level one to Level ten. The higher level one’s Vein is, the easier and more Qi energy one could accumulate. Not only that, higher leveled Veins also correspond to greater available strength as well as possibly bloodline variations and even unique abilities!

Level one to three are normal veins for cultivators, four to six are special veins that belongs to unique bloodlines and abilities, and level seven to nine are said to be veins equivalent to those of ancient civilisations. They are undoubtedly powerful. As for Level ten Veins…it could be considered godly. The number of people who have such veins are less than ten in this entire world.”

“…So if I continue to practice this [Vein of Gods], would I be able to reach that a Level ten vein one day?” Luo Ke asked after a while of silence.

Huang Xue lightly responded: “That will depend on you.”

“What about its rank?”

“It has not been evaluated, or should I say, it’s impossible at this point in time.”

Since the [Vein of Gods] was a skill with an unlimited potential, it was indeed possible to for one to reach a Level ten vein through cultivating this method. As such, its rank could not be calculated. Even for Huang Xue, he could not gauge its preciousness.

In fact, during the time that he was a god, Huang Xue had still been cultivating this very [Vein of Gods]! Its potential had still not been reached even then.

This could be seen how priceless this [Vein of Gods] was, and how much Huang Xue valued Luo Ke to the point of personally giving away this secret arts to the latter without hesitation.

Luo Ke contemplated for a long time before he finally asked, letting out some of his thoughts:

“Why…are you helping me to this extent? What is your purpose? Even if it was reward for helping you, these items…are simply too extravagant just for something like this. With your ability, I’m sure you could have taken care of Yang Chen just the same without me. There’s no need to give me all this.”

Huang Xue faintly smiled as he looked into Luo Ke’s eyes and firmly answered: “Because I like you.”

Luo Ke’s face instantly became pale as he took several steps back.

“Y-you…wait! I do not have such preference for men! If…if your goal is that, then please take everything back. I will not sell my body for materialistic items.”

Luo Ke stammered with fright…as he placed the manuals and two silver cosmic bags into his brown cosmic bag.

Huang Xue’s face fell as he saw Luo Ke’s reaction. After suppressing his desire to beat this brat up, Huang Xue said, with difficulty:

“Stop overestimating yourself. Even if I thought that way, it wouldn’t be your turn to say those lines! Anyhow, what I meant is that I admire your bold and ruthless character. You are worth befriending as a fellow brother. Moreover, I firmly believe you have great potential to reach the peak of this world. Once you have attain such strength, I will naturally have a request for you. These items now could be considered an early payment. But even if you cannot fulfill my request, you may simply treat these items as a gift of friendship. More importantly, the stuff I gave you hold no value for me. Would you say these reasons are enough, Brother Luo Ke?”

Luo Ke calmed down as he thought over Huang Xue’s words. It was true. With Huang Xue’s ability, if he wished to kill him, it would just be too easy. If he had come for his own bagua mirror, then there was nothing Luo Ke could have done.

Moreover, this person was simply too frightening and mysterious. It was much better to befriend someone like Huang Xue rather than go against him. And the most important thing was that there were no previous enmities between the two.

With that said, since the other party is giving away such precious “rewards” out of good will to rope him in on request, this kind of good deal…just why the hell would Luo Ke not accept!?

As Luo Ke thought of this, he looked back at Huang Xue. Although Luo Ke suspected that the latter’s true identity was not so simple and this future “request” may arduous, he would still accept the offer. Despite his naive appearance, Luo Ke was a decisive person. With the opportunity right in front of them, he only slightly hesitated before seizing it!

After all, strength was what he urgently needed now. Even if it was a deal from the Devil…he will still willingly take it!

Thinking here, an image of short white-haired girl briefly flashed through Luo Ke’s mind, causing the young man to unconsciously clench his fists. Only five years left…I must hurry…

Luo Ke quickly awoke from his thoughts.

“Ha…haha! Since it is like so, then I will not reject any longer. I will remember this care, Brother Xue!” Luo Ke smiled at last and cupped his hands towards Huang Xue. While there may be some dubious intentions behind Huang Xue’s words, Luo Ke still decided to accept the former for now.

The other party had already shown their good will, if he rejected him now…it may not lead to anything good anyway!
